SHELBY'S NEW BED!
PawPaw made Shelby err Leslie (she is wanting to go by her middle name for now) a new bed. Several months ago we decided that 'Leslie' needed a new bed. She looked through the JC Penny catalog and found a set she liked. The it dawned on her that PawPaw might want to make her one so she asked. They sat down together to draw out plans and decide on the colors, how many drawers, cubbies etc. PawPaw surprised 'Leslie' by painting dolphins on the bed as well but these aren't just any dolphins, these are glow in the dark dolphins There is also a desk that PawPaw is making but it isn't ready yet. SWEET DREAMS 'LESLIE'

100th POST!
This is my 100th post on my blog! Nice! And many of you never thought I would keep it up! I always wanted my Blog to be a compilation of scrappy stuff, family and me. It has turned out to be more about the scrappy stuff. That is fine, but for my next 100 posts I really want to try to focus on the family stuff a bit too. This is a great place to document their happenings. With that said, it's on to scrappy stuff! LOL!
These Denver Zoo LO's are done on a scanned map of the zoo. Pretty neat, thanks Lesley! The Denver is from 50 States and Zoo is from AK. The compass in the lower right corner of page 2 is from GS. Pretty simple pages, but itn't it supposed to be about the pictures?

Grandpa John's Oxen & Wagon. This is at the Denver Zoo. I love taking the kids there to see it. The wagon die and barrel are both from PDDU. The wagon was paper pieced and both were inked. The wagon wheel centers are glittered brads that I inked. They look rusted. Came out better than I hoped. Pretty cool if I do say so!

Close up of the wagon die cut.

A little LO about friends. Used a flower cut from MM and the friends is from LT. The butterfly is from my new HM cart. I used both the regular cut and the shadow cut only adhering them at the body. Neat 3D if I do say so!

Now...I will say, this weekend really didn't turn out the way it was supposed to, hence why I got to scrap a bit. On Thursday morning I won tickets to the Jet Car Nationals at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison (up by Denver). Well when I went to get the tickets on Friday from the radio station, there was no one there! UGH! I can't believe it! I called and left a few messages but found out that the station had closed early for the holiday on a whim. So...the kids and I, out of holiday plans, just chilled at home. I really need to make this up to them. Maybe a trip to the swimming pool one day. They will love that! On Sunday Aaron and Susan brought their cars, the Corvette and the Cougar up to BV for the car show. Mom and Cousin Mary followed and Adrian and his kiddos all joined us downtown for the annual event. It was a lot of fun and we ate more than our fair share of ribbon fries! Should have taken a picture of that but since it was raining during most of it, I didn't think about it! hee hee!

New LO's and cards
Here are several LO's and cards that I did this weekend. I hope you enjoy and maybe even get a bit inpsired!
Columbine Memorial LO's. The only really special thing about these (other than what it is, and where it's at) are the prima flowers that I used glimmer mist on. Really liked that touch. Otherwise I kept these pages about the photos.

Surprise for Mom!
Pam in Colorado from the Night Owls on the Cricut MB had the traveling RAK and she wanted to give it to my Mom, but surprise her by doing it in person. Sooo she and I set up a meeting at Memories 4 Life on Saturday. Mom was so surprised that we did this! I am so happy that we pulled it off! Pam is super sweet and I am so glad that we got to meet!

My Birthday
Well I was treated pretty special for my birthday. First Shawn and the kids got me the Jawbone (it's a bluetooth for my phone). I am in LOVE with it! I also love that they surprised me! Shelby made me this card. Which by itself is incredible since papercrafting is so not cool!

Jennifer, gave me the spider web Cuttlebug folder and she made this cool little pouch to put it in!

Here is the card Jen made too. Love her crafting style!

Kathy made me this wonderful card. She always has some of the cleanest, stamped cards. I love her style too! She also got me a Subway gift card, some buttermints and Lindor truffles...yum!

My Mom made me this card...and she gave me the butterfly stamp she made it with...love this stamp, and Mom I always love your creations. You really do not give yourself enough credit! Such style.

Mom also promised me the Drippy Goo punch! I hope she can find it!
My Night Owl girlies and FB friends were also full of Happy Birthday Wishes!
Thank you to all my wonderful friends and family for making my birthday so special! I love you all!

Ramblings and a few new items
This weekend Shelby, Shawn and I attended CPO Project 2000 in Colorado Springs. Once again Project was fun, sad, inspiring, busy, hectic, and wonderful! This Project was ecpecially cool since we got to share it with Shelby and there were several work friends there as well as my brother Aaron. We met (or re-met) numerous correctional professionals from all over the country and had a blast! This year we helped the organizationa and Robert Wright with various details. Helping at the BBQ was the best and we had so much fun! I will be posting some picts in the coming days...so watch out! Sadly, Hunter couldn't join us but he was so happy with the goodies we brought home for him!
Kip has left our work unit :( and this is his going away card. The sentiment fits him perfectly! LOL!

Another alcohol inked sympathy cards...simple with a stamped image.

A sympathy card for a dear friend. The background is alcohol inked and then a stamped image and sentiment (which BTW, is not crooked in real life) silly picture!

Charisa's wedding shower card made with HA, heat embossing, stamping and Dazzling Diamonds.
